It was a memorable double for Royston BC on Sunday with both the men’s and women’s teams winning the North Area league play offs.

The men’s 2 x fours had a tough semi-final win against Baldock, getting home by the narrowest margin before a more comfortable win against Whitethorn in the afternoon’s final.

For the women’s side, two very strong performances saw them take the title with victory against Stevenage and then Baldock in the semi-final and final respectively.

Both sides now progress to the county semi finals where the winners of the 4 areas play off to become Hertfordshire league champion.

To top off an already ‘Super Sunday’, Royston also clinched the 2022 Meldreth & District League title after a closely-fought final against Melbourn, held at Meldreth Bowls Club!
