Club Opening Day – Saturday 24 April 2021
President’s Message
Welcome to the 2021 bowling season. I hope you have all kept well and safe during these unusual times. The last year has been an extremely frustrating time in that we have been unable to play the game we all love. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel with all the vaccines now being administered.
In view of this the club along with the County and Bowls England remain confident that we will have a bowls season this year even if it is in a covid-friendly manner.
To be able to do this I must thank Mick Hall and his loyal band of helpers who have continually worked on the green to ensure we have a good surface to play on when we do get back to playing.
This year in liaison with Bowls England the club will be holding a National Open Day on Saturday 29 May 21 to try and attract new members to our wonderful game and club. If you are free and are willing to assist on the day, please let the Committee know.
My charity this year is the North Herts Branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society who help and support my wife Sandra and many other people in Hertfordshire. So, thank you for all the contributions however small throughout the season.
My Tour this year is to Bournemouth, where we will be staying at the Elstead Hotel, from 16th to 19th July. I would like to thank Eunice, Keith and Rodney for all of their hard work let’s hope we can enjoy this.
As a club we have a loyal and hardworking Committee for which I thank and hope that as members you can support them throughout the year. I encourage you all to try and participate in all types of games i.e friendly and competitively wherever possible.
Finally, I hope you all have an enjoyable season and every success in all you enter, and I look forward to playing with you on the green.
Kind regards,
Steve Kilford
